How the War Started; the Battle of Moshchun

Mar 19, 2023

In Moshchun we meet with Vladim, the head of the village. He told us about his personal experience with the start of the war; the bombs dropping on the airport, the missiles that destroyed his home, crawling through the forest on his stomach to help the Ukrainian army and to just survive. Later we came across this article on the Battle of Moshchun. Watch the video then take a few minutes and read this historic account, it brings history into focus.

In the winter of 2023 I went to Ukraine to get past the news stories and see how the people were doing. Having lived in Ukraine for four years I wanted to record what it is like to live in a war with your children fighting a few hundred miles away. These are the stories of the Ukrainian people, the real hero’s. Slava Ukraini! (Glory to Ukraine) Heroiam slava! (Glory to heroes).
