Events

This service starts off with a Vespers and then moves into the Liturgy of St. Basil. During the Vespers, we read prophecies from the Old Testament. After the prophecies, the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil begins. In this service we celebrate the resurrection by scattering bay leaves around the church as a sign of Christ’s victory over death. we shout “Christ is Risen!” and the reply is “Truly He is Risen!” After a long season of fasting and lamentations it is truly a joyful moment.
